Morrisons selects RedSky IT to enhance product development process
Morrisons has signed a contract with RedSky IT for the provision of its product development lifecycle management solution, Creations. Morrisons will deploy Creations to enhance the speed and efficiency of its product development process, bringing own-label food products to market much more quickly and ensuring complete supply chain traceability and due diligence.
As the UK’s fourth largest grocery retailer, Morrisons required a solution that would allow it to optimise its product development and specification process. Having assessed the various solutions available, Morrisons decided that RedSky IT offered the right combination of superior technology, expert services and experience to help improve the efficiency of their product development processes. As a fully integrated, collaborative supply chain, product innovation and due diligence management system, Creations will allow Morrisons to streamline its new product development (NPD) process by improving visibility and control of product and supplier data.
Andrew Pleasance, grocery director for Morrisons says: “In the highly competitive and dynamic UK food retail market bringing high-quality foods to market as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible is fundamentally important. As a recognised leader, RedSky IT was a natural choice to help us optimise our product development and management process. Through increased efficiencies, we will have greater opportunity to bring innovative and exciting products to market more quickly.”
Paul Woodward, sales and marketing director for RedSky IT says: “This is an excellent contract for RedSky IT as it significantly extends our work with major food retailers in the UK. Through these retailers’ efforts to improve supply chain management practices to deliver safe, healthy products, the UK has become a global leader in own-label product development and food safety compliance.”
