Explorer acquires Shafer’s Service Systems

Vancouver, BC – US-based Shafer’s Service Systems, a provider of Dispatching and Mobile Office Software for field service technicians, and Explorer Group subsidiary Explorer Software Total Systems Corp. have entered into a definitive agreement under which Shafer’s will be acquired by Explorer Software Total Systems Corp.

Jim McFarlane, CEO of the Explorer Group said “today’s announcement is a positive outcome for Shafer shareholders, customers and employees. Shafer’s is a market leader in field service software, with best-in-class technology and a large customer base. We look forward to working with the Shafer’s team to enhance and extend their successful track record as a strategic field service software vendor and deliver increased value for their customers as well as our existing base of Explorer customers.”

The transaction is expected to close September 2007.

Shafer’s Service Systems delivers a complete Mobile Office solution that consists of both specialized hardware and software that digitizes the field invoicing process. The company’s flagship dispatching software allows dispatchers to manage field technicians making businesses more efficient and profitable. GPS and mapping provide real-time vehicle tracking. Shafer’s Service Systems is headquartered in El Cajon, CA with installations throughout the USA.
