Dragon Boat Race Report
RedSky IT recently took part in its 3rd Dragon boat fund raising event for CRASH, Instead of our normal location in East London we entered the Salford Quays venue in Manchester.

An air of optimism was around the team as some of the rowers were now to be considered “veterans” and therefore wiser and mentally prepared for the battles that lay ahead. In a complete contrast to last year where the sun shone down on the teams, torrential rain and thunderstorms preceded the start of the race, some nervous faces were shown at the prospect of being the only conductible material for lightning to find in the middle of the basin!
The team consisted of:
Aidan Healy
Andrew Glen
Darren Bell
Errol De Hoedt
John Birtchet-Sharpe
Keri Holmes
Simon Hague
Sophie Hurst
Steve Allen
Steve Bell
Tobit Roth

The first heat was a closely fought race with one second splitting first and third, The Red Mullets being just pipped to second place.
Heat two saw RedSky miss out on first spot by 1/10 of a second and this was the same again in heat three.
Overall the Red Mullets came in 13th just two seconds off the semi final positions, a well done to the team!
A good day was had by all but more importantly we raised a significant amount for CRASH and were awarded the top prize for fundraising.
Although all good fun the event is all about raising money for those less fortunate than our selves so a big thank you must go to those customers friends and employees that supported the team with sponsorship.
