History of the Company

RedSky IT has a long pedigree in the construction industry market place

The current company was formed through the merger of a number of the main suppliers to the industry during the 1990’s. The predecessor companies were

FCG Computer Systems – mainly supplied smaller construction companies with their first systems being on the commodore pet in 1983, their products were FCG1 and Winbuild

Brandt Construction Computing – mainly supplied mid range construction companies with unix based systems starting in the mid 1980s, their main product was Buildax

B&C Systems – supplied similar systems to Brandt starting in 1987, their main product was MICAbuild

Mentor Systems – mainly supplied large construction companies with unix based systems starting in the mid 1980s, their main products were MAX and MENTOR

Syntech - supplied the AEC sector with project accounting systems firstly with their Conquest product and then later with their Progression product.

The Database - mainly supplied mid range construction companies with sql server based systems starting in the late 1990s, their main product was DEMA

The mergers of FCG and Brandt in 1989 and then B&Csystems in 1996 to form the company RedSky Computer Systems saw the development on the AXiM and Esteem products which were first installed in autumn 1997. The CAESOR service management product was added to the portfolio in the Summer of 1998.

January 2002 saw the full integration of the various business units under the new name Ramesys and in summer 2004 the Construct entry level system was launched.

Development began on the Summit product set in the summer of 2002 building on the technology developed for the AXiM product.

The first release of the Summit product went live in November 2005.

In Autumn 2005 the company name was changed to RedSky IT

In January 2007 RedSky IT became part of the Explorer Software group of companies, who specialise in the same market sector but primarily in North America.

We still have many staff who worked in these predecessor companies and provide a wealth of industry experience to our team.
