New IT solution helps SME contractor with major cost saving
Leading Cheshire based building contractor, Benjamin Armitage (Hyde) Limited, have confirmed that they are achieving cost savings in the region of £10,000 per year and around 30% of staff time following the implementation of a new entry level contractor IT solution.
Dave Richards, Company Secretary at Benjamin Armitage (Hyde) Limited, states, “We were aware of other systems on the market, but I had used another RedSky IT product in a previous position and had confidence in the company and its products.” He continues, “By using this new Construct software system from RedSky IT, we are now able to check the actual costs throughout the life of a contract up to its completion. This is a significant step forward for the company, as previously we had to wait until the end of the development to get the true picture of our costs and hence the profit made on the job. Now, the accounting function is no longer separate to the rest of the company, but is central to its performance and is the information hub where everybody goes in order to get accurate, up to date information.”
RedSky IT has simplified the process of managing sub contractors as Construct allows easy cross-referencing of a range of functions where a sub contractor has multi-purpose contracts on a project. CIS, tax and VAT elements are all simply reported, allowing easy, detailed certification so that all sub contractors can clearly see for what they have been paid.
“The ’Construct’ package has given us the opportunity to manage the business more efficiently,” concludes Dave Richards. “We have succeeded in showing all 32 of their staff how to use the software so that if anybody has a query about any contract, they can log-on and extract the information themselves, rather than ring up the accounts manager.”
