Skipton Properties Ltd choose Summit 3000

Skipton Properties are based in Keighley, West Yorkshire and have been building homes across Yorkshire and Lancashire since 1986. The business has decided to migrate from Sage to Summit 3000 Contract Management solution, which includes integrated modules for Purchasing, Budgeting, and XML Tax Submissions.

The decision was based on a number of key drivers however the main aim was the need for a fully integrated solution that had the Costing Ledger at the heart of this system not a bolt on module. This gives them the ability to monitor budgets, orders, accruals/provisions, and actual costs for each building plot.

Other drivers for the move to Summit were;

  • To bring spreadsheet based information into a central system
  • To provide a standard system that could be used by everyone who needs it
  • Integrated Purchase and Sub contractor Orders to give visibility of Commitments
  • Matching Invoices and Payment Certificates to Orders
  • The ability to cost each individual housing plot / development
  • Document Attachment Functionality
  • Imaging for incoming documents

This replaces a current system that needed the manual maintenance of information on excel sheets alongside the Sage accounts package. Summit will provide a solution that can be used to manage and monitor the costs and sales for their sites.

The integrated purchasing system will deliver visibility of commitment costs on contracts and also provide matching of goods received and Invoices when received. This will allow the business to manage costs on each individual development / plot and provide a level of management information that was not previously available.

The breadth of functionality in Summit such as Document Attachments to transactions and the ability to scan invoices were important factors in the decision to choose RedSky IT software to support the business going forward.
