A Meeting of Minds event report
With so much construction going on in the Gulf, it is perhaps surprising that it had not happened before but on the 26th June RedSky IT hosted a conference at Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba racecourse that brought together senior Directors from those that design our buildings and infrastructure, the Architects, Engineers and Consultants (AEC), and also those that bring these designs to life, the Contractors. Entitled A Meeting of Minds the event brought together senior decision makers in charge of projects worth billions of dollars to discuss ways of using application software to support and manage the business processes that are required to satisfy our craving for new buildings.
The event hosted by RedSky IT, a leading application software provider to the construction industry supply chain, informed the 80 strong audience, of the advances in application software that have been made and can be used to manage and control their projects in every phase of construction. Live presentations of RedSky IT’s Progression AEC software for the AEC audience and the award winning Summit for Contractors followed an opening address by John Conmy, Director of RedSky IT. Stuart Nutbeen, Key Account Director and Monique Campbell, Business Development Manager, provided the software presentations. Oracle, a partner to RedSky IT, was also there to discuss technology options that are available to manage and control data with the RedSky IT solution. Lunch was provided and offered the opportunity for networking between the attendees. RedSky IT also arranged for a tour of the Nad Al Sheba facilities to take place.
Commenting on the event, John Conmy said “It was pleasing to see so many senior people attending this event and the feedback we have received is very positive so it is obvious that the need for events like this exists. Although we only opened the office here in Dubai in November we have been supplying financial & operational control application software to the Middle East for over 15 years to customers such as Al Futtaim Carillion, Dutco Balfour Beatty and Khansaheb. The investment made in the Dubai office allows us to be much closer to our existing customers and also to ensure that the wider community in the Middle East has easier access to our products and service”

Stuart Nutbeen addresses the audience at "the meeting of minds" Dubai 26 June 2006.
