A change in ownership gave Via East Midlands the opportunity to unleash Summit’s full potential.
Via East Midlands Ltd has been wholly owned by Nottinghamshire County Council since April. It provides the county’s highways and fleet services and generates additional income by offering competitive services to the region’s private and public sectors.
When Via was 51% owned by the Corserv Group, members of the Via team had been using Summit, RedSky’s flagship ERP software. Having experienced what can be achieved with Summit and the potential to further develop it to fit Via’s needs, Head of Finance Andy Berry was understandably keen for Via to implement it as soon as possible, so purchased the system in mid-April.
“We’ve been using Summit since 2016 but until now we’ve not able to unlock its full potential,” said Andy. “We’re excited to be able to have Summit as the system at the heart of our financial processes, using Summit Core Financials and the Procurement module, complete with Workflow and Approvals. We’re also taking on Business Analytics, including the Payment Performance Reporting App; and the Invoice Register module, to improve the efficiency of our Accounts Payable team.”
