RedSky’s construction project management software will enable new customer Big Red Construction to tighten up its document control practices while also making life easier for the guys on site…
Big Red Operations Director Kevin Keogh did his homework before selecting his construction management software provider.
“RedSky gave us an in-depth demo of the whole system,” he said. “We looked at other systems across the market, but RedSky suited our business better than everything else that was out there because it’s so user-friendly and easy to navigate. Our staff have varying IT skills levels so I wanted something that everyone would be able to use.”
Document Management Software for Collaboration
RedSky’s Project Connect collaborative solution suited Big Red perfectly because document control is such an important part of the business. “We work across multiple construction schemes and are finding that the volume of documents is growing rapidly – especially in relation to drawing changes,” said Kevin.
“What we like about RedSky is the fact that we’ll be able to track all our documents, safe in the knowledge that the latest revision is ‘at the top of the pile’ and that all other revisions are superseded and safely stored in the background. That’s very, very important.
“We’ll be sharing the latest drawings with our contractors and clients through an access page. With RedSky, we’ll know that the documents have been delivered and we’ll also know if they’ve been opened and are being used. That’s another massive benefit.”
Project Connect will also help Big Red exert more control over sending and receiving important documentation. “The documents will be logged and recorded, so we can make sure that signed contracts have been sent back to the relevant parties,” said Kevin. “We’ll have greater control over the documents that are used on-site by the guys, too, like weekly timesheets, health and safety audits and material requisition sheets.”
Kevin is looking forward to getting started with RedSky. He said: “It’s going to add a very good dynamic to the business because everything will be constantly updated within the system and everyone will have the same access to all the latest information whether they are on-site, in the office or travelling. The guys on site will use ready-made forms – they’ll have everything they need at their fingertips, so they won’t have to wait for details to be sent across to them.”
We look forward to interviewing Kevin again for an update once Big Red is up and running with Project Connect.
