Migrating from AXiM to Summit will enable a busy Scottish housebuilder to drive efficiencies and improve oversight across the business.
Turnberry Homes Limited is based in Glasgow and has been with RedSky for 20 years. Commercial Director Michael Burnett said: “Over recent years, we’ve been a lot busier. We’ve been using the basics of AXiM, but we wanted to get a better handle on costs and the operations on site.”
Although Michael did consider going out to market, he didn’t relish the prospect of starting all over again. “The biggest thing for us is that as AXiM users, the staff already have the basics,” he said. “Although there will be more training required for Summit, they already know their way around and how the menus look, so by staying with RedSky we’re already halfway there.”
In addition to the Core Financials, Turnberry has purchased the Summit Invoice Register module. Michael said: “As it stands, all our purchase invoices are processed in hard copy. Even if an invoice arrives by email, it’s printed out and passed around the office, through all the different levels of authorisation, before payment is issued. The Invoice Register will digitise the process, and approvals and queries will all be handled by the Summit module.”
Michael has also purchased the Summit Small Works module: “Throughout the defect liability period, we’re responsible for any issues that may occur. We currently use a spreadsheet to track reported defects through to the problem being resolved. Once we’ve transferred that information into Summit, the module will flag up key dates automatically, as well as giving us better oversight and improved reporting capabilities.”
It’s the Summit Procurement module that Michael will be using most: “Just now, our budget and cost information is on standalone spreadsheets. But with the Procurement module we’ll be able to cost each development and form the budgets within Summit. Then, as we use the system to procure the works and place orders, Summit will automatically track costs, budgets, expected margins, and so on. I’m hoping it’ll make things a lot easier.”
